Rams punter Johnny Hekker Releases T-Shirt Benefiting SoCal Wildfire Relief Fund
Los Angeles football player co-designs t-shirt with 100% of profits aiding local relief efforts following Southern California wildfires that displaced thousands
SCOTTSDALE, AZ., December 15, 2017 – Los Angeles Rams punter Johnny Hekker has teamed up with Athletes Brand to release a t-shirt in which 100% of the profits support wildfire relief efforts. The limited-edition t-shirt benefits United Way of Greater Los Angeles’ Southern California Wildfire Fund aiding long-term rebuilding efforts and recovery for low-income families.
Hekker’s t-shirt campaign furthers his voiced desire to being heavily involved in wildfire recovery efforts. Last week on social media he announced that he was ready to help however he could, and showed up that same evening with his wife and a truck full of supplies at a dedicated donation center.
“Partnering with United Way of Greater Los Angeles and Athletes Brand is a great opportunity to bring relief and unified support to the communities affected by the recent wildfires,” said Hekker in a release put out by the team. “I hope that these combined efforts can help the families, businesses, firefighters and all those affected by this tragedy as they protect and restore their community.”
Hekker becomes the latest Los Angeles-based professional athlete to partner with Athletes Brand for their “Shirt for a Cause” initiative, joining Larry Nance Jr., Alex Wood & Kyle Farmer and Yasmani Grandal.
The limited-edition “LA United” t-shirt can only be purchased from AthletesBrand.com. Co-designed and imagined by Hekker, the shirt features a crest on the front similar to those found on the shirts of fire relief members. Also included is the phrase “Together, LA United” which Hekker helped coin to recognize the team-like camaraderie and effort showcased by countless parties throughout the fire containment process and immediate relief efforts. The tri-blend shirt is available for purchase in Men’s, Women’s and Youth options.
